05/18/16- 05/19/16 – Imperial Valley EDC Economic Summit The Imperial County Transportation Commission and the Imperial Valley Economic Development Corporation will host the Imperial Valley General Assembly and Economic Summit this May, featuring informative sessions on the state of the Imperial Valley economy, working bi-nationally, quality of life initiatives and tools for redevelopment. The General Assembly will feature keynote Assembly member Eduardo Garcia, representing California’s 56th Assembly District and will highlight regional transportation projects and programs.
The San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation and World Trade Center San Diego are now accepting applications for the MetroConnect Prize. MetroConnect provides 15 San Diego companies $10,000 each in matching funds to cover up to 50 percent of the costs associated with a company’s next step in going global. Thanks to the support from JPMorgan Chase & Co., these funds assist companies in any scenario that increases their presence abroad. The application period opened April 1, 2016 and closes May 2nd, 2016. Finalists will be notified by May 20, 2016. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.
Hannover Messe 2016 will take place April 25-29th, 2016. Hannover Messe is and has long been the largest industrial trade show in the world and one of the premier event platforms to spark international business opportunities. The greatest and most-advanced manufacturing technologies are showcased and economic growth is facilitated. This upcoming April, SelectUSA will head the US Investment Pavilion, and for the first time ever, the United States will be the official Partner Country of the trade show. President Obama will also become the first sitting U.S. President to attend the trade show when he opens Hannover Messe with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Members of the San Diego and Imperial District Export Council will be present at this landmark event.
